You’re Chasing the Wrong Thing

It’s not the goal. It’s the feeling.

There is only one reason you do or do not do something.

You believe it will make you feel a certain way.

You say yes because you think it will create pride.

You avoid the workout because you do not want to feel discomfort.

You delay the conversation because you do not want to feel exposed.

You push yourself because you want to feel accomplished.

Every decision is about creating or avoiding a feeling.

But most of us get the order wrong.

We think the action creates the feeling.

“I’ll feel confident once I hit the goal.”

“I’ll feel calm once everything settles down.”

“I’ll feel strong once my body changes.”

Backward.

The feeling comes first.

When you practice confidence, you act differently.

When you practice calm, you choose differently.

When you practice strength, you show up differently.

Your body moves toward what feels familiar.

Make the feeling familiar.

So ask yourself today.

What feeling am I trying to create in my life?

Awaken Actionable Step:

  1. Choose ONE feeling you believe you would have if you accomplished your big goal.

  2. Every day, create that feeling on purpose. Stand taller. Breathe slower. Think like that version of you.

Let the feeling lead. The action will follow.
