New Zealand Excursion Options
We have some incredible excursion options for you to enhance your retreat experience - choose to participate in as many or as few as you’d like, additional fees do apply. There will not be scheduled classes during the excursion breaks so if you do not plan to attend, feel free to use this time to explore the resort grounds & lake, use the pool, spa, tennis courts, etc - there are plenty of on site activities to keep you entertained!
All options include round trip transportation, activity tickets, private guide, and packed lunch (if gone over a meal). Gratuity is not expected in New Zealand but always appreciated for exceptional service.
Please select your options and approve payment no later than December 1st to secure your spots as some have limited tickets available.
Waitomo Glowworm Cave Tubing
Float down an underground river, slip into fast waters, jump off waterfalls and take in the magic of the glow worm studded Ruakuri Cave. The glow worms resemble looking up at the night sky while peacefully floating through the dark caves. This is a unique adventure you won’t want to miss! This tour will be in groups of 8-11, departing every 30 minutes. Provided packed lunches will be eaten on the ride home.

Skyline Gondola, 2 Luge Rides & Zipline with packed lunch in the Redwood Forest
Ride nearly 3,000 feet up Mount Ngongotahā in an 8 seater Gondola cabin with spectacular views overlooking Lake Rotorua, the city, and steaming geothermal vistas. Once at the top you can access the luge and zipline. The Skyline luge is the longest luge track in the world! A luge is a combination of a go-kart and toboggan that has a steering and braking system, controlled by you! The included zipline is 1312 feet long, flying over the city with panoramic views of the lake and city below. Glide through the sky at speeds up to 37 miles per hour and even race side by side! We’ll depart Skyline park and head to Whakarewarewa Forest to walk through the Redwood trees while eating provided packed lunches before departing.
This adventure package is around 3 hours plus the forest & transportation. Great for all ages & abilities.
Hobbiton Movie Set Tour
Experience the real Middle-earth at the 12 acre Hobbiton Movie Set, where, in the heart of the Waikato region, you can step into the lush pastures of the Shire, as seen in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies. Fall in love with the Alexander family sheep farm, just as acclaimed director Sir Peter Jackson did, as you journey on a short bus ride through the unequivocal beauty of the land, with the mighty Kaimai Ranges towering in the distance. Your guide will escort you on a shared walking tour around the movie set, showcasing the intricate details, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how movie magic was made here.
Tour is 2.5 hours and is great for all ages and abilities. Limited spots are available.
